When mounting the new covering, make half a hexagon or half an octagon out of the starting step. (see figure in practial application).
First, remove the paint with a hair-dryer or a spatula! If it is not possible to remove the paint , the stringer can be panelled with veneered plywood, that means you have to notch the plywood slats and glue them with assembly adhesive to the old stringer. Possible existing balusters can be taken out easily in most cases, which makes it possible to let an expert strip paint the balusters and the handrail. Attach an appropriate bar made of solid wood to the top side of the stringer.
Cut the tread overlapping the stringer down to the spar.
After you have laid the new step, panel the side with our finish (price on application).
In case the stairs are very worn out please proceed along the lines of the assembly instructions. If necessary fill still existing dimples with assembly adhesive, press the RenoPROFIL profile railtightly on the subsurface and screw them together.
In this case, please use either the RenoPROFIL Universal profile rail (punched)as an additional screw connexion overarm or the RenoPROFIL-Universal profile rail (not punched). If you opt for the latter please make sure that the entire face of the profile rests on the stair leading edge. (if necessary, level the stair leading edge).
In this case please use brackets which are available in oak - ash - beech and maple (coated or natural-coloured) and which can be used on both sides. Because the brackets are braced thourgh fins at the mitre they have a high level of stability. At mounting the brackets just need to be cut down to the right length. Horizontal legs run through (to the front face), vertical legs adjoin the horizontal legs. Mount the brackets before applying the wooden panel. (see step 1of the comment). Fix the brackets either by screwing together with a dowel and a rounded head screw of brass or by sticking together with assembly adhesive. (Price on application)
